Unmukt Chand, the former India Under-19 World Cup-winning captain, is currently showcasing his talent in the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) for the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR). Despite LAKR's position at the bottom of the points table, Chand's individual performance has been a major highlight.

Chand's journey has been one of resilience. After retiring from Indian cricket in 2021 at the age of 28, he moved to the United States with the aspiration of representing the USA national team. While he is yet to receive a call-up, he remains focused on his goal.
"Moving to the USA was something like a second chance for me," Chand stated before the 2025 MLC season. His ultimate aim is to play for the national team.
Chand's performance in the previous MLC seasons was underwhelming. He scored only 68 runs in four matches in the inaugural season and 158 runs in six matches the following year. However, the 2025 season has seen a significant improvement.
Currently, Chand is the sixth-highest run-scorer in the league, with 243 runs in seven matches. This impressive form provides a glimmer of hope amidst LAKR's struggles.
With LAKR out of contention for the playoffs, the remaining matches offer Chand an opportunity to continue his impressive run and make a strong case for selection to the US national team.
Chand remains determined to let his bat do the talking. He believes that consistent performance is the key to earning a place in the national side. "My only way to get back is to let my bat keep talking," he affirmed.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, Chand remains focused on improving every day and striving to be the best version of himself. His journey in the USA is ongoing, and he remains optimistic about the future.
