When Salman Khan revealed why he doesn’t eat beef: ‘Gaay meri bhi maata hai, my mom is Hindu’
In a recent interview, legendary screenwriter Salim Khan spoke about his interfaith marriage with Salma Khan (formerly Sushila Charak). One sees how Salman Khan and his entire family celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and other Hindu festivals at their house. Salim Khan also revealed that none of his family members have beef as they consider cow’s milk as mother’s milk. Amidst Khan’s recent statement, here’s recalling the time when Salman Khan had also spoken about it. During an interview on ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ in 2018, the actor spoke about his respect for all religions and his choices. Salman was asked about his diet and he said, “I eat everything. I just don’t eat beef and pork.” He further explained the reason behind it and said, “Gaay hamari bhi maata hai. Main maanta hu meri maa hai woh kyunki meri khudki maa Hindu hai. Mere pita Muslim hain. Meri dusri maa Helen Christian hai… Hum poora Hindustaan hai (Cow is my mother too because my mother is a Hindu. My father is a Muslim, my second mother Helen is Christian. We are an Indian family).” Meanwhile, Salim Khan had said in an interview with Free Press Journal, "From Indore until today, we have never had beef. Beef is eaten by most Muslims as it is the cheapest meat! Some even buy it to feed pet dogs.
But in the teachings of prophet Mohammed, he has clearly stated that a cow’s milk is a substitute for mother’s milk and it is a mufid (beneficial) cheez. He has stated that cows should not be killed and beef is forbidden." He further added, “Prophet Mohammed has adopted good things from every religion. Like eating only halaal meat which was adopted from the Jews, who call it kosher. He has postulated that every religion is good and believes in a Supreme Power like we do." On work front, Salman was last seen in ‘Sikandar’.
