Diljit Dosanjh's latest film, 'Sardaar Ji 3', has faced controversy due to the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir as the female lead. The film was banned in India. Dosanjh has responded by sharing footage of the film's reception in Pakistani cinemas.
On Sunday, Diljit Dosanjh took to his Instagram stories to share audience reactions from Pakistan, where the film is being screened. He reposted a video showcasing a packed theater engrossed in the movie. The video prominently featured Hania Aamir in one of the scenes. A text overlay on the video declared, "12 shows on ultra screens, the largest in the country. Overwhelming response from the audience for Sardaar Ji 3. Come and watch!"

The selection of Hania Aamir for the lead role sparked considerable backlash, especially following the Pahalgam attack in April. Many questioned the decision to cast a Pakistani actor. Diljit addressed the controversy, explaining that the decision to cast Hania was made well before the recent tensions.
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit stated, "When this film was made, everything was fine. We shot it in February, and at that time, the situation was normal. After that, a lot of big things happened that are not in our control. So the producers decided that since the film obviously can’t release in India now, they’ll release it overseas. The producers have invested a lot of money, and when the film was being made, there was no such issue."
Diljit further added, "Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
'Sardaar Ji 3', which was released worldwide on June 27th, also features Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Gulshan Grover, and Manav Vij.
