Aamir Khan Reconsiders "Chichora" Remark Aimed at Shah Rukh Khan: Reflecting on Past Jibes and Evolving Friendship

Aamir Khan has recently reflected on the evolution of his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, recalling past instances of playful rivalry, including labeling each other as "chichora" (cheap). In a recent interview, Aamir shared insights into their journey from professional tension to genuine camaraderie.

Early Misunderstandings and Banter

During an interview, Aamir Khan discussed his early interactions with Shah Rukh Khan, saying, "I hadn’t known Shah Rukh so much that time, we would keep meeting often, we even hung out together back then at either of our places.” He also addressed a humorous misunderstanding stemming from a Panchgani farmhouse vlog. In the vlog, Aamir mentioned Shah Rukh licking his feet. Aamir clarified that he was referring to his dog, who was named after the actor.

Aamir also mentioned Shah Rukh's frequent jokes at his expense, particularly regarding his absence from award ceremonies. “SRK often keeps making jokes on me, every year there are award functions and I don’t go to them, but they keep making fun of me,” he stated.

The "3 Idiots" Promotion and Shah Rukh's Critique

During the promotional period for "3 Idiots," Aamir Khan employed unconventional methods, adopting various disguises and embarking on extensive tours. Simultaneously, Shah Rukh Khan's "My Name Is Khan" was also nearing its release. Shah Rukh commented on Aamir's tactics, stating, “I regret to use this word, but it’s a kind of ‘chichorapan’. I wouldn’t go to this extent to promote my film. There is a way to market every film, and we too will have a unique strategy to promote our film.”

Aamir's Measured Response

Aamir Khan responded thoughtfully to Shah Rukh's remarks, acknowledging his perspective. “SRK is a sensible man, if I am going to different parts of the country and he finds that chichora what can I say, that’s his opinion and I don’t agree with it,” Aamir said. He emphasized the personal growth he experienced through these promotional activities, adding, “For me, it was an important experience as a human being, and it will bring growth to me.” He also playfully retorted, “As far as chichorapan is concerned, Shah Rukh might know better about it because he does a lot of it in his life; he is an expert at all this.”

A Blossoming Friendship: Late-Night Gatherings

Speaking about their current relationship, Aamir shared that they now frequently spend time together. “We often make plans to catch up, and we never stop at one drink. When we sit together, it is usually till morning, 7 am, not just with Salman but with Shah Rukh too. This has happened eight to 10 times till now,” he revealed, illustrating the strength of their friendship.
