Dulquer Salmaan, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, has seamlessly transitioned between Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi film industries. Known for his versatility in romantic dramas like OK Kanmani and Sita Ramam, as well as thrillers such as Kurup and Lucky Bhaskar, Salmaan's biggest critics and sources of grounding are found within his own family.

In a 2023 interview, Dulquer shared insights into his relationship with his father, the legendary actor Mammootty, particularly regarding their contrasting work habits. Dulquer humorously recounted, "Dad is funny. He still does about five films a year, back to back. And here I am, doing these long, drawn-out projects that take anywhere between eight to ten months. He just can’t wrap his head around why a film should take this long.”

Mammootty's paternal reactions are a source of amusement for Dulquer. "He’s told me, ‘If you’re going to do one film a year, don’t bother coming home,’” Dulquer revealed. Despite their differing work styles, the father-son banter stems from a foundation of love and mutual respect. Mammootty remains one of the most prolific actors in Malayalam cinema.

Adding to the grounding influence is Dulquer's wife, Amal Sufiya, who remains unfazed by his celebrity status. Dulquer explained, “For her, I’m just a guy who goes to work and comes back. In fact, in the first two-three years of our marriage, if someone came up and asked me for a picture, she’d turn to me and ask, ‘Why do they want a picture with you?’ and I’d have to remind her that I’m an actor.”

Dulquer finds this detachment endearing, noting, “She’s so detached sometimes. For her, she knows what I’m like at home — unfiltered, lazy, and unglamorous. People only see the groomed version of me.”
