Vicky Kaushal recently discussed his relationship with his wife, actress Katrina Kaif, particularly regarding how they critique each other's work. According to Vicky, Katrina provides brutally honest feedback on his acting, which he greatly appreciates.
During a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan for The Hollywood Reporter India, Vicky stated, "She is very honest. She will say how it is." He added that Katrina is mindful of the hard work involved in each project, but generally offers straightforward opinions, which Vicky values. "After a film screening, it is very rare to find that kind of feedback – this was good, this was bad, this you could have done better."
However, Vicky admitted that Katrina doesn’t always react well to the same type of blunt criticism. "It’s the same over here. She wouldn’t want that either. First step has to be encouragement," he explained, agreeing with Kareena's sentiment that she wouldn't want her husband, Saif Ali Khan, to be overly critical of her performances.
Vicky has previously commented on Katrina’s directness. In an earlier interview with Bombay Times Lounge, he mentioned, "It becomes difficult to be objective when two people are together. She is able to give me that third-person perspective when it comes to my creative thoughts... Sometimes, she is too honest. I keep telling her to sometimes sugarcoat. She is very honest."
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif married in a private ceremony in 2021 after several years of dating. On the professional front, Vicky is preparing for Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Katrina is currently focused on her beauty business and has not yet announced any upcoming acting roles.
